Xiaomi has officially updated its Security Center support list, confirming that several popular Xiaomi and POCO smartphones will reach the “End of Support” (EOS) phase by the end of 2026.
In a move to simplify its software lineup, Xiaomi has confirmed a clear timeline for ending software support for several older smartphones. The company has updated its EOS (End of Support) list, showing that a number of Xiaomi and POCO devices will stop receiving HyperOS updates and security patches during 2026.
This decision affects phones that previously moved from the older MIUI system to the newer HyperOS platform. Once a device is placed on the EOS list, Xiaomi will no longer release new features, fix software bugs, or provide security updates for that model.
For users, this means the phones will continue to work, but they may become less secure over time and will not get any future software improvements. Xiaomi says this step helps the company focus its resources on newer devices and improve long-term software support for its current product lineup.
What "End of Support" Means for Users?
For users of the affected smartphones, the 2026 end-of-support timeline goes beyond missing visual or interface updates. The main impact will be on security, app support, and long-term usability.
Once support ends, devices will no longer receive regular security patches. This means new Android security flaws will not be fixed, increasing the risk of malware, data theft, and other security issues over time.
Most apps will continue to work at first. However, as app developers update their software and increase minimum Android requirements, some apps, especially banking, payment, social media, and gaming apps, may stop working or fail to receive updates.
As HyperOS evolves with more advanced features, including deeper AI functions and newer system requirements, older hardware may no longer be able to keep up. Phasing out these devices helps maintain system stability and performance across newer models.
Xiaomi and POCO Phones Expected to Reach End of HyperOS Support in 2026
While Xiaomi revises its EOS list from time to time, the smartphone series listed below are currently expected to reach End of Support during the 2026 calendar year. This timeline is based on their original 2022–2023 launch windows and Xiaomi’s standard four-year security update policy.
Xiaomi Series:
- Xiaomi 12
- Xiaomi 12 Pro
- Xiaomi 12 Lite
- Xiaomi 12T
- Xiaomi 12T Pro
POCO Series:
- POCO F4
- POCO F4 GT
- POCO X4 Pro 5G
- POCO M5
Redmi Series:
- Redmi Note 11 Series (Global)
- Redmi 10C
- Redmi A1
Note: Users are encouraged to check their specific region’s “Security Center” within the phone settings for localized EOS dates.

The move to end software support for these models reflects Xiaomi’s shift in focus toward newer platforms, including HyperOS 2.0 and future versions of the operating system.
These upcoming HyperOS releases are designed to take advantage of advanced hardware features, particularly Neural Processing Units (NPUs). Such capabilities are mainly found in high-end chipsets like the Snapdragon 8 Gen series and Dimensity 9000 series.
Older devices scheduled to retire in 2026 lack the processing power and hardware support needed for these optimizations. As a result, Xiaomi is phasing them out to ensure stable performance and smoother development of its next-generation software ecosystem.
