Motorola’s New Moto X70 Air Sets New Standard for Thin Phones

Motorola’s Moto X70 Air is making waves with its incredibly thin 5.99mm body, premium design, and flagship-level features. Set to launch globally as the Motorola Edge 70, it is a blend of style and strong performance, offering triple 50MP cameras, a 120Hz OLED display, and a powerful Snapdragon chipset at an attractive price.

Moto X70 Air Key Highlights

  • Ultra-Slim Design: Just 5.99 mm thin and 159 g light, the Moto X70 Air blends elegance and durability with IP68/69 protection and a refined glass-metal finish.
  • Flagship-Level Hardware: Packs a 6.7″ 1.5K 120 Hz pOLED display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, 12 GB RAM, and triple 50 MP cameras including selfie.
  • Strong Value Proposition: Launching October 31 in China and November 5 globally (as Edge 70), priced at CNY 2,599 (₹31,000) undercutting rivals like Nothing Phone 3 and OnePlus Nord 4.

Moto X70 Air: Slim Design, 120Hz Display, and Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 Power

The Moto X70 Air is one of the slimmest smartphones ever at just 5.99 mm, weighing only 159 g. It’s available in three Pantone-validated colours Gadget Grey, Lily Pad, and Bronze Green. Despite its form factor, Motorola includes IP68/69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

It features a 6.7-inch pOLED display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, peaking at 4,500 nits brightness excellent for outdoor visibility. The screen also supports HDR10+ and in-display fingerprint scanning.

Powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, the Moto X70 Air includes 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512 GB UFS 3.1 storage. It runs Android 16 with Motorola’s minimal UI.

The 4,800 mAh battery is impressive given the slim build, paired with 68W wired and 15W wireless charging. Motorola claims a full charge in under an hour, and adaptive refresh rate helps extend battery life.

Moto X70 Air: Triple 50MP Cameras, AI Features, and Pricing

Photography is a major focus: the device packs a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP front camera. Video quality, detail, and colour are expected to be strong across all lenses. There’s no telephoto lens, but image quality across wide and ultrawide appears promising.

Additional features include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and Motorola’s AI-enhanced MyUX software experience.

The Moto X70 Air launches in China on October 31, priced at ¥2,599 (₹30,000) for the 12+256GB variant and ¥2,899 (₹33,500) for 12+512GB. The global version, called Motorola Edge 70, launches November 5.

European pricing is expected to start around €700–€800 (₹65,000+), significantly higher than in China. An India launch has not been confirmed but is anticipated by early 2026.

Moto X70 Air: How It Compares to Nothing Phone 3 and Nord 4

Nothing Phone (3): Offers a more powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, a 5,150 mAh battery with 120W charging, and quad 50MP cameras including a periscope lens. However, it’s bulkier and heavier.

OnePlus Nord 4: Priced from ₹29,999, it has a 7+ Gen 3 chip, 5,500 mAh battery, and 100W charging. It offers solid value but a less refined camera setup and no IP rating.

Who Should Buy the Moto X70 Air

The Moto X70 Air is ideal for users who prioritize design, portability, and balanced performance over specifications. If you prefer a lightweight phone that fits easily in your pocket while still offering excellent visuals, reliable cameras, and fast charging, this is the one for you.

It’s also a great choice for professionals, creators, or frequent travelers who want a device that feels stylish in the hand but doesn’t compromise on everyday needs. However, power gamers or those looking for a powerful chipset may find options like the Nothing Phone 3 or OnePlus Nord 4 a better choice.
