vivo Pad 5e Tipped for Global Launch Soon with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and 10,000 mAh Battery

In mid-October 2025, vivo quietly rolled out the Vivo Pad 5e tablet in China alongside its new X300 phones and accessories. The Pad 5e is a higher-end member of the Pad 5 lineup, and it immediately stands out for its robust hardware. It uses a 12.1-inch IPS LCD panel at a sharp 2.8K resolution (2800 × 1968) and supports an adaptive 144 Hz refresh rate.

vivo Pad 5e comes with the  Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset (an upper midrange chip), paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of fast UFS 4.1 storage. Vivo has built the Pad 5e around a 10,000 mAh battery with 44 W fast charging a combination that includes a Qualcomm 8s Gen 3 chipset, 10,000 mAh battery, and 144 Hz display all in one device. In short, the Pad 5e packs near-flagship features (high refresh screen, four speakers, stylus support, etc.) into what will be priced as a midrange tablet.

Vivo Pad 5e Debuts in China, Global Launch Still Unclear

vivo has only confirmed the Pad 5e for China. Chinese sales begin October 17, but no international timeline is available. As of late October, vivo has not indicated whether it plans to sell the Pad 5e globally yet, and Indian tech sites report no word yet on global or India availability. The only related news is that vivo’s sub-brand iQOO will release an equivalent iQOO Pad 5e on October 20 in China essentially the same hardware under the iQOO name but beyond that there’s no official word on Western or Indian launches. In other words, the Pad 5e remains China-only for now, with any overseas release still speculative.

Vivo Pad 5e vs OnePlus Pad vs Xiaomi Pad 6

Compared to other Android tablets on the market, the vivo Pad 5e brings class-leading specs. For example, the OnePlus Pad (launched in early 2023) is a similarly styled 11.6-inch tablet.

The OnePlus Pad uses a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, a 144 Hz 11.6″ LCD display, and a 9,510 mAh battery. In practice, vivo’s Pad 5e has a slightly larger screen (12.1″ vs 11.6″) and a bigger battery (10,000 mAh vs 9,510 mAh), with a newer Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip in place of the Dimensity 9000.

Both tablets deliver 144 Hz refresh and quad-speaker audio, but the vivo pulls ahead in raw capacity. In everyday use this means the Pad 5e should run a little longer on a charge and handle heavy apps at least as well (if not better) than the OnePlus Pad, while the OnePlus unit remains a powerful performer in its own right.

Compared to Xiaomi’s latest Pad 6 (released April 2023), the Pad 5e is clearly a step up. The Pad 6 has an 11.0-inch 2880×1800 (2.8K) LCD with a 144 Hz refresh, and is powered by a Snapdragon 870 chip.

However, its battery is only 8,640 mAh (8840 mAh typical) well below the vivo’s 10,000 mAh. In side-by-side terms, the vivo Pad 5e offers a larger display (12.1″ vs 11.0″) and much more battery life, plus a higher-end processor (Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 vs Snapdragon 870).

Both tablets have high-refresh LCDs and modern Android (Pad 6 runs MIUI Pad 14 on Android 13), but the Pad 5e has the clear edge in performance and stamina.

Xiaomi’s Pad 6 is positioned more firmly as a value-oriented midrange slate, whereas vivo’s Pad 5e flirts with flagship-class specs in a similarly affordable package.

Vivo’s new Pad 5e offers a potent combination of display, performance, and battery capacity not commonly seen in its price range. Its 12.1″ 144 Hz screen and 10,000 mAh battery stand out even next to rivals like OnePlus’s 11.6″ tablet and Xiaomi’s 11.0″ Pad 6. For now, the Pad 5e will only be sold in China, but its specs suggest that if it ever lands in other regions, it will compete strongly with the top Android tablets in its class.
